Burnout profiles: dimensionality, replicability, and associations with predictors and outcomes

The present study examined the distinct configurations, or profiles, taken by global and specific (cognitive weariness, physical fatigue, emotional exhaustion) burnout dimensions, their similarity across two independent samples of employees. In addition, this research also documented associations between identified predictor variables (perceived organizational support ethical leadership), a series work-related outcomes (affective commitment, normative continuance commitment–perceived sacrifice, commitment–lack alternatives, job satisfaction, perceived stress). Five profiles employees were using latent profile analyses: Thriving, Healthy, Weary, High Burnout, Normative. Employees’ perceptions significantly related to likelihood belonging all profiles. turn, employees’ affective commitment sacrifice lack alternatives), stress found differ as function membership.
